Elizabeth Catherine “Red” Fay, 90, of Taylorville, formerly of Springfield, died at 11:09 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2005 at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. Elizabeth was born December 2, 1914 in Williamsville, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Mary Elizabeth Vittitoe Fay. Miss Fay had been employed as a clerk for Lord’s Dress Store in Lincoln and later for K-Mart and Lincoln Center for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Robert J., Cecil T., James R. and Arthur L. Fay; twin sister, Margaret F. Ball and sisters: Eva A. Smith and Edna M. Trees. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, “grandson” Dino and “great granddaughter” Devan. Body was donated to science. No services are planned. The family of Elizabeth Catherine Fay is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
