Elizabeth "Betty" A. McCue

Elizabeth "Betty" McCue, 93, of Springfield, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at St. Josephs Home. Betty was born July 27, 1924 in Springfield, the daughter of Phillip and Catherine Clusker McLaughlin. She married Joseph McCue on June 24, 1944 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception; he preceded her in death. Betty graduated from Feitshans High School in 1941. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Rod and Reel Club and worked for the Secretary of State at the Capitol and McFarland Zone Center. She celebrated her 75th birthday with a hot air balloon trip around Springfield. Betty was proud of her strong Irish heritage and traveled to Ireland in 1996. Her greatest love was her family. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Toni) McCue of Springfield; two daughters, Cathy (Bruce) Loyd of Springfield and Chris (Richard) Von Behren of Springfield; five grandchildren, Jennifer Stapleton, Nick Loyd, Michelle Looper, Shanna Mitchell, and John Von Behren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 700 East Spruce Street, Chatham. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, with Fr. John H. Nolan, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
