

Elizabeth Josephine Senalik, 92, died at 12:35 p.m. at her home in Fairfield, CA. A lifelong resident of Springfield, except for the last 4 years when she moved to be close to her son and family in Fairfield, CA. She was born March 21, 1916, in Springfield, the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth Gudinas Fraieras. She married Stanley Senalik in 1940 in Springfield and he preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs. Senalik was a lifelong homemaker devoted to her husband and family. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Altar Society, Lithuanian American Club of Central Illinois, Prairie State Polish Club, serving as Recording Secretary, and Sangamon County Model A Ford Club. Elizabeth enjoyed traveling and especially the cruises she took to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Alaska. She thoroughly enjoyed all the activities surrounding her Lithuanian heritage, including dancing, singing, and parades. Her love of dancing the Polka with her husband of 51 years was one of the highlights of her life. She also was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed attending baseball games even in California. Surviving are her son, Wayne Senalik and wife Scottie of Fairfield, CA; two grandchildren, Ryan Senalik of Fairfield, CA, Tyson Senalik of Solana Beach, CA, two great granddaughters, Dilyn and Sutton, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703. Celebrated funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2008 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield, IL 62702 with Rev. Robert J. Jallas, celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to NorthBay Hospice, 1300 Oliver Rd., Fairfield, CA 94533.
