Elmer Scott Duncan

Elmer “Scott” Duncan, 76, of Springfield, Illinois passed away at 2:28 pm, Monday, July 23, 2012, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born November 25, 1935 in Downing, MO, the son of Raymond and Mary Duncan. He married Seena Graham in Springfield on June 21, 1968. Scott was employed by Reserve Life Insurance Company for 25 years, and then became a self employed life insurance agent until the time of his death. He was a member of Elliot Avenue Baptist Church and had attended there since 1972. He served as Financial Secretary. Scott is survived by his wife of 44 years Seena, a daughter Sherri (Roy) Williamson of Athens, a son David (Crystal) Duncan of Dawson, five grandchildren Meaghan, Emily, Lanie, Justin, and Evan, two sisters, and two brothers. Scott was preceded in death by his parents.

Family will receive friends: from 9:30 am-11am on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Elliot Avenue Baptist Church, 501 W Elliot Ave, Springfield.

A celebration of life ceremony: will follow at 11 am at the church with Pastor Roger Jackson Officiating.

Cremation rites will be accorded by Bisch & Son Funeral Home. His remains will be taken to his birthplace of Downing, MO where a family memorial service will take place.
