

Evelyn "Adele" Schien Dirreen, 97, of Springfield, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Heritage Manor. Adele was born July 29, 1910, at the Cogdall Nursery in Springfield, the daughter of Ace Lloyd and Minnie Gertrude Cogdall Frederick, they preceded her in death. She married Harold M. Schien October 20, 1932, he preceded her in death in April of 1970. Adele later married R. Allen Dirreen on June 19, 1971, he preceded her in death on July 6, 2005. Adele attended Springfield High School and was a member of the First Christian Church of Springfield. She lived in Virginia, IL for 20 years. She was a mother of four children, a homemaker and an avid reader. She is also preceded in death by one grandson, Martin E. Swart in August of 1988 and her brothers, J. Alfred Frederick and David C. Frederick. Adele is survived by one son, H. Fred (wife, Anita) Schien of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; three daughters, Jo Anne Swart of San Diego, CA, Joyce (husband, Paul) Kramer of New Berlin, and Jackie (husband, Paul) Carey of Springfield; two sisters, Mary Martha Hill of Odessa, FL and Doris A. Bridges of Springfield; one sister-in-law, Melba Frederick of Springfield; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; twelve great- great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Private inurnment will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Family will receive friends for a memorial gathering from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at First Christian Church, 700 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Rev.
