

Evelyn Stillwagon, 89, of Springfield, died on Monday, September 10, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital. Evelyn was born on November 21, 1917 in Jasper County, the daughter of Ephrian and Monica Ochs. She married Fred Mathew Stillwagon in1940; he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Bill Harlan. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She retired from the State of Illinois. Evelyn was the matriarch of the family with a great sense of humor who enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cooking. She is survived by two sons: Fred (wife, Sharon) Stillwagon of Springfield and Frank (wife, Dawn) Stillwagon of Troy; three daughters; Donna (husband, Bob) Napier of Shipman, Carol (husband, Bill) Harlan of Shipman, Sandy Newquist-Venturini of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters: Marie Snow and Deloris Tomazic and one brother, Wilbur Ochs of Claremont, and several nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence, Springfield with Rev. Michael Haag celebrant.
