F. Nadine Moore

F. Nadine Moore, 81, of Springfield, died at 5:55 a.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at St. John’s Hospice. Nadine was born on July 23, 1924 in East Carondelet, IL the daughter of Arthur F. “Ott” and Mabel Damman Riebeling. She married Clayton Vincent Moore on February 15, 1946 in Cahokia, IL. Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Dupo Community High School in Dupo, IL. She worked as a bookkeeper for Rice Stix, in St. Louis, MO before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of First Congregational Church United Church of Christ where she was also a Sunday School Teacher. Nadine was inducted into the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. She was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Griffin Booster Club, an IHSA State Baseball Official and a St. Louis Cardinal Knot Holer. She did volunteer work with Cathedral, Griffin and Sacred Heart Griffin athletics departments and bingo for 60 years. Nadine was a seamstress and a famous donut maker. She was preceded in death by her parents, baby sister, Majorie, who died of pneumonia at age 4, and brother, Lloyd Riebeling. She is survived by husband: Clayton Vincent Moore of Springfield; three daughters: Christine Groves of Springfield, Carole O’Neill of Springfield, Kathy (husband, Jack) Fisher of Pleasant Plains, IL; one son: Terry Moore of Springfield; three grandchildren: Gina Groves, James O’Neill and Amy (husband, Jimmy) Grant; one sister; Jewel VanPelt of Englewood, CO and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2005 at First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 2100 S. Bates Ave., Springfield with Rev. Faye Buttrick officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Sacred Heart Griffin Athletic Fund, 1200 W.
