

Frank Eder, Jr., 59, of Mason City, died 10:07 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Frank was born August 16, 1948 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Margaret Newmann Eder, who preceded him in death. He worked on the F4-, the F-16 and the F/A –87 throughout his career in the Air Force and Illinois National Guard. He retired with a rank of Master Sergeant as a Jet Engine Mechanic for the 183rd Technical Fight Wing of the IL Air National Guard. He loved helping people and was a very giving person. He was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He was a fan of Nascar and a fan of Jeff Gordon. Frank loved to take care of his car. He is survived by one son: Welsey Frank (Lori) Eder, of Maryville, IL, one daughter: Jennifer Margaret (Eric) Hirstein of Springfield, and one grandchild: Isabella Grace Eder. The family invites friends to visit from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 am on Monday October 29, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Department of Defense will conduct military honors.
