Frank S. Hopka, 83, of Lincoln, died at 11:00 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Lincoln. Frank was born August 22, 1924, in Bellevue Twp., Eaton County, MI, the son of Joe and Irma Beli Hopka, who preceded him in death. He married Mary Sinnard Dlugosh on June 7, 1992 in Springfield; she also preceded him in death, as well as his brother Thomas. He was a WW II US Air Force veteran. He grew up farming with his family, and then became a truck driver. He enjoyed growing roses, and other kinds of flowers in his garden. He also enjoyed dancing with his wife Mary when they lived in Florida. He is survived by his brother, William (Doreen) Hopka of Pulaski, VA; sister, Elizabeth Thomas of Boise, ID; stepdaughter, Shirley K. (Roger) Ward of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Cremation accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Graveside ceremonies will be held in Camp Butler National Cemetery on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dan Siebert officiating. The Department of Defense will perform military honors.
