Franklin Brunk

Franklin Brunk, 86, of Springfield, died at 8:56 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003 at his home. Franklin was born October 26, 1916 in Springfield, the son of Shelby and Pearle I. Higgins Brunk. He married Louise Harris April 6, 1942 in Marietta, Georgia. Mr. Brunk was employed by Standard and Conoco as an Oil Distributor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a Charter Member of Woodside United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Burrell Brunk and sister, Emma Beard. He is survived by his wife: Louise Brunk of Springfield; one son: Michael J. (wife, Elizabeth) Brunk of Urbana; two daughters: Patricia A. Kueper of Cahokia, Carole S. Griffith of Springfield; three grandchildren: Kelli Dodd, Stephanie Yencer-Price and Jeffrey Kueper; five great grandchildren: Victoria and Michael Price, Shelbi Dodd, Charlie and Carli Kueper; several cousins and good friend, Dan Breychak. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2003. Additional visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2003 at Woodside United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2003 at Woodside United Methodist Church with Reverend Nadine Preston officiating. Burial will follow at David Brunk Cemetery in Springfield.
