

He was born March 24, 1943 the son of Cecil and Elizabeth (Wilson) Mourning in Huntington, WV. He later married Sharon Anderson on October 7, 1997 in Las Vegas, NV.
Fred is survived by his wife, five daughters Rebecca (Companion Mike) Mourning of Philadelphia, PA, Kathryn (husband Lenny) Rehwaldt of Springfield, Julie (husband Norm) Fawns of Springfield, Tammy (husband Kirk) Jacobs of Springfield, Michele (husband Jerry) Calvert of Petersburg, sister Patricia (husband Denny) Owen of Louisville, KY, brother in law Milton Tripplett of Huntington, WV, eleven grand children and two great-grand children also, Fred lovingly raised five step-children.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Jean Tripplett.
Fred served proudly in the United States Air Force and later worked as an Airplane Mechanic for Garrett Aviation for over thirty years before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the American Legion in Springfield. He loved to be with his family. He was a very intelligent man and enjoyed science, history, coin collecting, NASCAR and all sports. Fred loved life and enjoyed his very much. He loved to gamble and was a Diamond Member of Harrah’s.
Memorials may be made to Diabetes Association and St. John’s Hospice.
Visitation will be Monday, April 25, 2011 from 4pm to 7pm at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen in Springfield. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 8:30 am with Reverend Charlie Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
