Gary R. Brehm

Gary was born on August 16, 1938, in Springfield, the son of Henry and Alma Knepler Brehm.

Gary was a 1956 graduate of New Berlin High School. He proudly served in the United States Army as a medical specialist stationed in Ft. Sill, OK. Gary was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Berlin. He was a self-employed farmer in the New Berlin area for all of his adult life. Gary was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing dart ball, and playing board games, especially dominoes, with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Bruce Cody.

He is survived by his sister, Janice Cody; nieces, Jill (husband, Ron) Schaefer and Karen (husband, Bryan) Miller; great-nephews, Cody Schaefer and Morgan Miller; great-niece, Sara Miller; and many cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-New Berlin, 714 E. Gibson St, New Berlin. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Martin Kaufmann officiating.

Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Berlin with military honors provided by the Department of Defense.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 197, New Berlin, IL 62670.
