

Gertrude A. "Trudy" Johnson, 76, of Springfield, passed away at 10:51 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Trudy was born November 29, 1938 in Springfield, the daughter of Roy M. and Anna I. (Roach) Kennedy. She married James R. Johnson on June 14, 1958 in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 2013. Trudy was a 1957 graduate of Ursuline Academy. She enjoyed her life as a homemaker, raising her six children, and then watching her 22 grandchildren grow. She enjoyed every moment she spent with her loving husband of 55 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James R. Johnson II; two brothers; and six sisters. Trudy is survived by her four sons: Patrick J. (wife, Pamela) of Rochester, Michael K. (wife, Lisa) of Rochester, Brian K. (wife, Suzi) of New Berlin, Craig E. (wife, Jennifer) of Springfield, and Stephen R. (wife, Julie) Johnson of Sherman; one daughter: Laurie A. (husband, Devin) Dudas of Springfield; twenty-two grandchildren: Kate, Michael, Joseph, Thomas, Matthew, Bobby, B.J., James, Ashley, Craig II, Andrew, John, Alexander, Jacqueline, Stephen II, Charles, Mary, and Benjamin Johnson, Michael, David, Heather, and Timothy Dudas; two great-grandchildren: Connor and Sophia Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at Calvary Cemetery, 2001 N. 1st St., Springfield.
