Gilda Antonia Frasco, 94, of Springfield, died at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. John's Hospice. Gilda was born March 27, 1921 in Toluca, the daughter of Antonio and Maria Taranta Frasco. Affectionately known as "Aunt Jill," she graduated from Lanphier High School in 1938 and began a work career that spanned most of her adult life, working at Pillsbury Mills for over 40 years, retiring when the plant closed its Springfield location. She was the owner and manager of EZ Wash Laundry and a clerical worker for the Illinois State Police. Her passion was building homes for resale, including the first house in Tara Hill subdivision. Her family was central to her existence. Her step-mother, Diletta Antonacci Frasco, and siblings, Angela Frasco, Edith Cellini, John R. Frasco, Claudio "Plute" Frasco, Mary Harris, Lindina Evans, Nick Frasco and John T. "Trig" Frasco all preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Ceila Ackerman, and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside ceremony and burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
