Mr. Akers is survived by one son Jerold “Jerry” (Cecily) Akers of Springfield, two sisters: Linda Akers of Springfield and Lorraine Akers of Elkhart, one brother David Akers of Pana and two grandchildren: Chloe and Stella Allen. He was preceded in death by one sister Pamela Wilson.
Glen worked as an auto mechanic in Springfield since the age of 15. He enjoyed stock car racing, skiing, camping and the Chicago Cubs. He had a huge heart and treated everyone as family.
Cremation rites were accorded. The family will host a memorial gathering on Thursday August 28, 2025 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Akers family.
