

Colonel Glen Cadle, USAR Retired, 64, of Virginia, formerly of Springfield, died Monday March 22, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born in Odd, West Virginia March 20, 1946 the son of Glen and Mary Hollingshead Cadle. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. He married Judith Sturgeon in Chicago, IL, October 1, 1966.
Col. Cadle served in the Illinois National Guard from 1965 through 1989, and then in the United States Army Reserves from 1989 till his retirement in 2006. In addition to his military career, he was a devoted husband, loving father, grandpa, brother and friend.
He was a member of the American Legion, the Reserve Officers Association and the National Guard Association of Illinois.
He enjoyed his retirement and working on the family farm. He was an avid hunter, with special interest in rabbit hunting and training beagles.
Surviving are his wife, Judith, two sons, Kevin of El Dorado Hills, CA., and Steve (wife JoAnna) of Virginia, IL, two granddaughters, Jade and Kylee Cadle both of Virginia, IL, a sister, Glenna (husband Buddy) Carrico of Taylorville, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. where visitation will be on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 3-6 PM and where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday March 29, 2010 with Rev. Curtis Batchelder officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
