Goldie May Sprinkle

Mrs. Goldie M. Sprinkle, 97, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St. John’s Hospice.

She was born in Menard County, IL, August 16, 1914 the daughter of Aultman and Matilda Heyen Binger. She married Paul G. Sprinkle January 9, 1938 and he preceded her in death August 12, 2008. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Moulton Binger and her granddaughter, Carla L. Carroll.

Mrs. Sprinkle was a member of the Sherman Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday school and served many years as the president of the Missionary Society. She was an accomplished seamstress and homemaker.

Surviving are her children; Gloria (husband Charles) Carroll of Pekin, IL, Louella (husband Owen) Rugg , and Marilyn (husband Richard) Chapman, both of Springfield, and Edwin “Ed” (wife Pam) Sprinkle of Mt. Vernon, IL. There are 10 grandchildren; Janice (husband Larry) Davis of St. Charles, MO, Todd (wife Michelle) Carroll of Hartsburg, IL, Garrand (wife Tracie) Carroll of Manito, IL, Chris (husband Rick) Romager of Chatham, IL, Brenda (husband Chris) Reavis of Springfield, IL, Kim (husband Shad) Burkiett of Bartonville, IL, April (husband Brian) McDonough of Hopatcong, NJ, Kerri (husband Mike) Taylor of Springfield, IL Heather (husband Terry) Boles and Tim Sprinkle both of Mt. Vernon, IL. Also surviving are 26 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law; Rozena Binger of Mason City, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. where visitation will be on Thursday September 1, 2011 from 9:00 am until time of funeral services there at 11:00 am. Rev. Harold W. Canaday and Pastor Will Haworth will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Petersburg, IL.
