Gregory "Greg" B. Jacobs

Greg was born October 13, 1951, in Springfield, the son of Stephen LaRue “Dugan” and Shirley Bridges Jacobs.

He graduated from New Berlin High School and then served in the United States Army. He was a former co-owner of Dugan Oil and Tire Company in Loami and a shareholder of Precision Tank. Greg was a charter member of the Loami EMS and was a certified EMT. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Loami Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Dr. Mark Jensen.

Greg is survived by his siblings, Stephanie Jacobs-Jensen of Diamondhead, MS, Melanie Smith of St. Barts, French West Indies, and Bethanie (Bruce) Drake of Chatham; nieces and nephews, Brittany N. (Tony) Byrd, John L. (companion, Melinda Winkleman) Norris, Stephen T. Drake, Marissa D. (Tarik Eisa) Drake, and Grayson B. Smith; and longtime family friend and caregiver, Bob Kaaz.

Graveside Ceremony: 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Loami.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Loami Fire Department, P.O. Box 60, Loami, IL 62661.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Lewis Memorial Christian Village with a special thank you to Jeanette and Raquel for their kindness, care and compassion.
