Guinelle I Dyson

Guinelle was born April 7, 1924, in Urbana, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Pauline Spencer Hosier. She married Barney E. Dyson; he preceded her in death after 47 years of marriage.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rea Moreno; and brother, Robert Hosier.

Guinelle was employed with Illinois Bell for many years until her retirement. She was an honorary member of the Blue Ridge Club and Elks Lodge #158. Guinelle was also a member of First United Methodist Church and AT&T Pioneers. She enjoyed board games and playing cards.

Guinelle is survived by her son, Dennis (Peggy) Dyson of Springfield; daughter, Beverly (Stuart) Vost of Springfield; four grandchildren, Douglas Moreno of El Paso, TX, Kristi Blakesley of Vista, CA, Lisa (Chuck) Bosworth of Springfield, and Jennifer (Jimmy) Coyle of Ashland; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Gwen Miser of MI; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Revs. Jimmy Coyle and Chuck Bosworth officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
