Harold Eubanks

Harold Eubanks, 72, of Springfield, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center. Harold was born May 13, 1932 in Calhoun County, Mississippi, the son of William Washington and Mary Emma Rich Eubanks. He graduated from Burdette High School, Burdette, AR in 1950. He was employed as a cotton farmer in Blytheville, AR before moving to Springfield.He was a member of The Prop Club for 30 years. He married Beady Warrington on March 24, 1951 in Blytheville, AR. A 40 year resident of Springfield, Mr. Eubanks was employed as a salesman for Griffitts Construction for thirty-five years before retiring in 1997. He loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting Illini sports. He also loved to fish, camp, hunt and bowl. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Clexton and Cleetus Eubanks; two sisters: Jewel Strand and Bobbie Parker. He is survived by his wife: Beady Eubanks of Springfield; two sons: Larry Eubanks of Springfield, Rick Eubanks of Rochester, one daughter: Cheryl (husband, Chuck) Fox of Athens; six grandchildren: Kellie, Shannon, Ashley, Lindsey, Chas and Britni; two great grandchildren: Avery and Dalton; two sisters: Inez (husband, Horace) Smart of Sun City, CA and Aileen (husband, A.B.) Dixon of Germantown, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield with Rev. Luther Barnes officiating. Cremation will be accorded by Cremation Tribute Center following the funeral service.
