

Harold "Hap" Murray, 77, of Sherman, died at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Hap was born July 16, 1934 in Springfield, the son of John and Ellen Roach Murray. He married Pauline Murray on September 21, 1963. Hap was a graduate of St. Joseph Grade School and Lanphier High School. He retired from R.D. Lawrence Construction. Hap proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 965 for more than 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, William, Jim, and Jack Murray; sisters, Leoma Stewart and Eleanor Kelly. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Murray of Sherman; one daughter, Kelly Murray of Sherman; one step-daughter, Arlene Lane of Sherman; one grandchild, Layke Lane of Springfield; two sisters, Helen Proska of Berwyn and Mary DeGroot of Antioch; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Holinga officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
