

Harriet L. Bogden, 90, of Springfield, died at 10:08 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Harriet was born May 26, 1921 in Harlan, KY, the daughter of Jerry and Emily Farmer Napier. She married Peter Stanley Bogden on June 11, 1950 in Springfield. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1974. Harriet worked for many years as an LPN, and later at Central Baptist Church Daycare for 17 years. She was a life-long member of Central Baptist Church and most recently First United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, her only son John, and her black lab; Blackjack. She traveled all over the US and Canada. Harriet also enjoyed going for walks, good conversation, playing bingo, watching westerns, and going to the gambling boats. She was also preceded in death by her parents and many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, John (wife, Candace) Bogden of Springfield; two grandchildren, John P. Bogden, Jr. and Eric Matthew (girlfriend, Danielle) Bogden, both of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Ellen Sharp and Pastor Clint Cook officiating.
