Helen T. Donelan

Helen T. Donelan, 92, of Springfield, died at 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at St. John’s Hospice. Helen was born on October 4, 1912 in Springfield, the daughter of John J. and Bertha M. Koehl Donelan. She was a graduate of St. John’s School of Nursing and had attended The University of Michigan receiving a certificate of Public Health. She retired in 1977 from School District #186 as a school nurse after 25 years of service. Helen was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, St. John’s Alumni Association, St. John’s Samaritans, St. Louise deMarillac Guild and American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). She was a former member of Springfield Women’s Club. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Dr. John J. Donelan and two sisters: Mary B. Donelan and Loretta D. Maher. She is survived by one sister: Clara J. Hayes and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2005 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry, Springfield, IL with Rev. Clinton Honkomp, OP celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Building Fund, 1930 Barberry, Springfield, IL 62704.
