Helen Louise Giannone Garman

Helen was born January 29, 1932 in Springfield, the daughter of Lawrence Valentine and Helen Louise (McLean) Link.

Helen was a 1950 graduate of Lanphier High School. She was employed at Sign & Display Company for 15 years after working for the Court of Claims for 10 years. She enjoyed being an artist and a seamstress.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Leonard (wife, Karen) Giannone of Springfield; two daughters, Linda Elliott of Alton, IL and Laura (husband, Matt) Dietrich of Springfield; six grandchildren, Leonard M. (wife, Haley) Giannone, Anna Marie Elliott, and Nicholas, Benjamin, Sofia, and Theodore Dietrich; and two siblings, Theresa Kraus of Springfield and Lawrence (wife, Dee) Link of Studio City, CA.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
