

Helen Louise Gipson, 88, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Chatham, died peacefully Sunday, March 18, 2012, at St. John�s Hospice, with her loving family at her side. She was born November 21, 1923, in Lowder, to John and Viola Fay Crouse Muckelston. Helen married Cloa �Bud� Gipson in November 1940. Her husband; brothers, Kenneth and Oren Muckelston; sisters, Marie Muckelston and Wanda Moeller; and grandson Brian Seifert preceded her in death. Mrs. Gipson was a cook for the Ball Chatham School District before retiring after 25 years of service. She also volunteered in the community by delivering Daily Bread for the Chatham Senior Center for many years. She was a �secret Grandparent� for several children in the Ball Chatham School District. Mrs. Gipson is survived by her son, John (Sharon) Gipson of Springfield; daughters, Helyn (Russell) Seifert of Girard, Beckilynn Gipson of Vacaville, CA, and Amanda Sue (Douglas) Kurz of Springfield; 8 Grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Megginson and Bernice (Prentice) Stewart of Waverly, Joyce Birk of Girard; several nieces, nephews, cousins. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham, before ceremonies. Memorial Services: Her family will greet friends from 1PM until the time of services at 2PM, Tuesday, March 20th at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Burial of her urn will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery. Memorials: Charity of donor�s choice.
