Hetty Rose McGuire

Hetty Rose McGuire, 80, of Springfield, formerly of Chatham, IL, passed away at Memorial Medical Center, Sunday, March 25, 2012. She was born July 19, 1931, in Curran Township, the daughter of Esker and Cennie Phillips Withers. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gaylord Withers and John C. Withers; and sisters, Lillie Jones, Marie Smith, and Adele Plummer. Mrs. McGuire is survived by daughters, Sandra (Andrew Brown) McGuire of Springfield and Brenda (Don) Stephens, of Chatham; sons, Thomas (Kim Sepich) McGuire of Chatham and Robert (Carol Lynn) McGuire of Springfield; grandchildren, Josh McGuire, Ryan (Lorrie) McGuire, Brandy McGuire, Haley Stephens and Hunter Stephens; four great grandchildren; step grandchildren, Ryne Pfeifer and Kyle Pfeifer; brothers Jim (Betty) Withers of Chatham and David (Elaine) Hartman of Tuscon, AZ; sisters Lois Van Drome of Tempe, AZ, Mary (Tom) Rowden of Mesa, AZ and; aunt, Susie Phillips of Sydney,OH; uncle, Albert Phillips, of Stearns, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. McGuire was on the Chatham Community Building Board and was the Chatham Township Supervisor for several years. She retired after 25 years as a bus driver for the Ball-Chatham School District. Visitation: Tuesday, March 27, from 4-7PM, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Services: The family will greet friends at Chatham United Methodist Church, 104 W. Chestnut, from 9-10AM, Wednesday, March 28, until the time of services at 10AM, with Rev. Sara Isbell officiating. Burial follows at Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials: Alzheimer�s Association, 2309 W.
