

Isaac "Ike" Dominic Hunt, 83, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at his daughters residence in Kathleen, GA. Ike was born on June 16, 1934 in Palmer, IL, the son of Isaac Newton and Nellie Rose Englehart Hunt. He married Florence Irene OBrien on April 18, 1959. Ike proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was stationed overseas in France. He was then employed with Fiat Allis as a computer programmer for 30 years and was also employed in software systems with Central IL Power Company. Ike was a member of the American Legion and the Fiat Allis Retirement Club. He enjoyed bingo, walking, and traveling, especially to Florida. Ike was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Angela Roberts; one sister, Darline Floyd; and two brothers, Glenn and Archie Hunt. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Florence "Irene" Hunt of Springfield; four children, MaDonna (husband, Jack) Richards of Kathleen, GA, Patricia Roberts of Baytown, TX, Archie Hunt of Raymore, MO, and Rita Hunt of Springfield; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother, Charlie (wife, Norma) Hunt of Decatur; one sister-in-law, Alice Hunt of Eustis, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 South Walnut St., Springfield. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant. Committal services will be held at 1:15 p.m. at Thomas-Anderson Cemetery in Palmer, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 2309 West White Oaks Dr., Suite E, Springfield, IL 62704.
