J. Thomas Marr

J. Thomas “Tom” Marr, 66, of Pleasant Plains, died at 9:49 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center. Tom was born June 28, 1940 in Curran Township, the son of George W. and Audrey Marcum Marr, Sr. He married Nancy Fuchs on December 27, 1958 at St. Mary’s Church. Tom was a 1958 graduate of New Berlin High School. He served in the U.S. Army after graduation and then returned to the New Berlin area to farm. Tom was a proud member of Masonic Lodge, and also belonged to the Shriners, the New Berlin Jaycee’s, of which he was a past president, and was a township collector for Island Grove Township. He was an avid duck hunter and member of Ducks Unlimited. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother: George Marr, Jr. He is survived by his wife: Nancy Marr of Pleasant Plains; one son: Jason (wife, Angela) Marr of Pleasant Plains; two daughters: Alicia (husband, Jim) Boesdorfer of Auburn, and Sara (husband, Dave) Conwill of Modesto; two grandchildren: Laci and Logan Marr of Pleasant Plains; two sisters: Marjorie Sebring of Springfield, and Melissa Ciota of Morris, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2006 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson, New Berlin. Masonic rites will be performed. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Angel Sierra officiating.
