

James A. Barnard, 64, of Springfield, died at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at St. John's Hospital. Jim was born June 1, 1949 in Springfield, the son of James and Barbara Boehner Barnard. He married Joyce Elaine Titone on September 23, 1967 at St. Aloysius Church in Springfield. Jim was a graduate of Lanphier High School and worked as a salesman for Schlitt Supply Company and Black & Company, and he retired from Securitas. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Harvey Anders. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Elaine Barnard of Springfield; one son, J. Lance (wife, Angela) Barnard of Pawnee; one daughter, Erin Elaine (husband, Mitch) Rogers of Springfield; six grandchildren, Elise RaeAnn and Trent James Barnard, Larry L. Groth, III, Kiarra, Katie and Kaleb Rogers; seven siblings, John (wife, Vicki) Barnard of Missouri, Gerald (wife, Nancy) Barnard of Virginia, Jody Martinie, Michael (wife Marcy) Barnard, Jay (wife, Janice) Barnard, Dawn (husband, Gary) Dodd, and Steve Anders (companion, Mary Chapman), all of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. The funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 675 E.
