He was born on July 7, 1944 in Springfield to Morris Boone and Leona McGinnis. James married Janet Kail on October 24, 1964 in Springfield and she survives.
Mr. Boone is also survived by two children: James Boone Jr. of Chatham and Amy Boone of Springfield and four grandchildren: Lyric, Lauren, Brock and Zuri. He was preceded in death by one daughter Joy Allison Boone.
James was a skilled carpenter and worked as a teacher at Capitol Area Career Center and he treasured his time spent with family especially his beloved grandchildren.
Cremation rites were accorded.
