James R. Burgar

He was born on February 25, 1939 in Springfield, the son of the late Raymond and Irene (Cole) Burgar. He married Marylin Todd in 1983 and she survives.

Mr. Burgar was a laborer for Matthews Transfer in Springfield.

Besides his wife Marylin, he is survived by 3 sons, Gerald Matulis II, James (wife Keri) Matulis and Michael (wife Cynthia) Matulis, all of Springfield, 7 grandchildren, Kasey, Brittany, Justin, Amber, Rylie, Chelsey, and Dalton, 3 great-grandchildren, Kaidynce, Austin, and Danitee, 2 brothers, Russ and John Burgar, both of Springfield, 2 sisters, Norma (husband Berwyn) Thompson of Riverton, and Judy (husband Gary) Jones of Springfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Raymond, Richard, and Larry Burgar, and a sister, Clara Wanless.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 9 am until 12 Noon. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Sangamo Surf Club in Springfield at 1 pm on Wednesday.
