James "Cari" Comerford

He was preceded in death by his father, William Comerford.

Jim is survived by spouse, Maria; mother, Konnie Kensil; sister, Jill Comerford Franklin; children, Elizabeth, Claire, Rachelle, Robert, Stephanie, and Nicole; as well as 14 grandchildren and 3 nephews.

He was a beloved husband, son, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Jim treasured his dog, Max, and loved to spend his spare time riding his Harley. In his adult life, he served time in the Army before becoming an accountant. Jim spent many years living in Colorado before returning to Illinois, and was currently working as a CPA for Illinois Department of Public Health.

Instead of visitation services, he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on his day of birth, June 24th, 2024. Celebration will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Village of Jerome Civic Center, 2901 Leonard St., Springfield. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
