

James Daniel England, 90, of Rochester, MN, formerly of Springfield, died peacefully in his sleep on November 7, 2007 in Rochester, MN. James was born March 5, 1917 in Springfield, the son of James and Hazel Jay England. He married Angeline M. Corso on April 27, 1940 in Springfield; she preceded him in death in 1989. James was a graduate of Springfield High School. He retired with the rank of Major from the US Air Force, where he served during WWII, receiving the Bronze Star. James was employed by Horace Mann, where he was a sales promotion manager, retiring in 1982. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one daughter: Cristine (husband, Jon) Charlesworth of Rochester, MN; two grandchildren: Daniel and Joseph Charlesworth; and two brothers: Richard England of Circleville, OH and Robert England of Arlington Heights, IL. Family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2007 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield with Father Anthony Pilli celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors provided by the US Air Force Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to: Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S.
