

He was born in Springfield March 23, 1915 the son of Clarence "Sim" and Maude Eaton Hodge. He married Louise Elizabeth Anderson in New York City Dec. 23, 1946.
Mr. Hodge earned his Bachelor's amd Master's degrees in education from Illinois State University and Northwestern University. He was honorably discharged after serving as a Lieutenant with the Medical Administrative Corps of the United States Army during World War II.
He taught in the public schools of Caledonia,Mich., Wethersfield( Kewanee), Morton, Hoopeston and Springfield, IL. He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church where he was a soloist and a choir member.He was a member of several retired teachers associations.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; son, Richard Eaton (wife,Risa) Hodge of Mesa,AZ.; daughter, Barbara Louise Hodge Shearer( husband,Roger) of Bloomington; a sister, Virginia Kranz of Foley,AL.; seven nieces and three nephews.
Cremation rites will be accorded and graveside services will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
