James D. "Jim" Meyer

James D. 'Jim' Meyer, 55, of Chatham, died at 9:57 a.m., Monday, August 01, 2005 at St. John’s Hospice. Jim was born January 14, 1950 in Springfield, IL the son of Oscar D. and Anna Mae Treat Meyer. He married Barbara Hartley, November 15, 1974 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mr. Meyer was a graduate of New Berlin High School and had attended Lincoln Land Community College. He was employed by Boardman Smith Funeral Home before working at St. John’s Hospital for 25 years in security where he was employee of the month in June 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Barbara of Chatham; daughter: Christina Meyer of Chatham; son: Jonathan Meyer of Chatham; brother Jack Meyer of Girard and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Fr. Chuck Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Cemetery in Chatham.
