

He was born on January 29, 1947, in Springfield, IL, the son of Dominic P. and Thelma M. (Parson) Titone. Jim married Jane Marie Mella on April 26, 1980, in Springfield; she preceded him in death on April 23, 2022.
Jim graduated from Griffin High School. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Jim went on to work as an Administrative Assistant with the Illinois State Police. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Jim enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, watching sports, and rooting for the LA Dodgers. He loved his family and his dogs.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Alexander Agbortogho; niece, Lisa Crouch; great-nephew, Trent Barnard; and brothers-in-law, Steve Crouch and Jim Barnard.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Jenny (Cyril) Agbortogho of Denver, CO, and Bonnie Titone of Lincoln; step-sons, Tim (Melissa) Mella and Joe (Shelley) Tulipana, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Logan and Kylie Tulipana, Amira and Palden Agbortogho, and Brennen and Bryleigh Losh; siblings, Joyce Barnard of Springfield, Janine Tompkins of Clearwater, FL, Rick (Lawrence Sutton) Titone of New York City, NY, and Patricia Crouch of Springfield; great-grandchild, Kaylani Tulipana; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:15 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Peace Lutheran Church, 2800 W. Jefferson St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Mary E. Zupansic officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the Department of Defense.
