

James H. Vancil, 87, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Morrisonville, IL, died at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2006 at James River Care Center in Springfield, MO. James was born May 27, 1919, the son of James O. and Ora Lyles Vancil. He married Lillian Kelley on February 22, 1948 in Springfield. James was retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 681, VFW Post 4495, American Legion Post 721, and 1st United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and five sisters. He is survived by his wife: Lillian Vancil of Springfield, MO; one son: Donald (wife, Jeanne) Vancil of Taylorville; two daughters: Becky Justvig of Springfield, MO, and Carol (husband, David) Jackson of Florrisant, MO; one sister: Loretta Goodall of Taylorville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Rominger officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
