Janet D. Argenta

Janet was born October 23, 1934, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Edwin and Viola Claussen Arp. She married Charles N. Argenta on August 11, 1956, in Davenport, IA; he preceded her in death on August 17, 2021.

Janet was a graduate of Davenport High School in 1953. During her career as an administrative secretary, Janet was employed by Scott County Public Schools in Davenport, IA, and District 186 in Springfield. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, several bowling and golf leagues, as well as the Metro Alums. Janet enjoyed bowling, golf, Cardinal baseball, baking chocolate chip cookies, and spending quality time with her family.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Janet is survived by sons, Kent Argenta (Dee) and Kregg (wife, Ann) Argenta, both of Springfield; daughter, Kathleen Argenta of Anthem, AZ; one grandchild, Kaitlyn Leonard of Tempe, AZ (attending ASU); sister, Donna Groves of Bettendorf, IA; brother, Edwin (Sandy) Arp of Bettendorf, IA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Justin Snider officiating.

Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
