Janet Gowin

Born November 20th 1939 in Springfield, Illinois Sangamon County. To Gladys “Lucille” Cooper and Fairyl H. Cooper the second child of seven.

Siblings are Frank L. Cooper (deceased) wife Hazel, Gail E. Cooper (deceased), Terry D. Cooper, Martin E. Cooper, Suziann Fank husband Richard, and Larry A. Cooper wife Kim.

She married Ernest R. Gowin on December 10th, 1960 in Mechanicsburg, Illinois (three days after he turned 21). They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2019.

Her children are Annette J. Klasinz husband Joseph and Richard E. Gowin. Her grandchildren are Alexandra H. King husband William (great grandpup Axel) and Katherine L. Machado husband Obryan.

Janet was a nurturing and loving (though very stubborn) caregiver.

She loved all kids and from a very young age strived to care for (spoil) them, whether they were her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, or local neighborhood kids. All kids loved her in turn as well. One of her favorite past times was going to garage sales and bringing home toys to fill the kids in the family’s toy boxes. She also loved to cook and watch Guy Fierri on the Food Network. You never left her house hungry. Birthdays and holidays will never be the same.

She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
