Janice K. Campbell

Janice K. Campbell, 69, of Springfield, formerly of Auburn, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Capitol Care Center. Janice was born July 30, 1940 in Champaign, the daughter of Wilbert and Mildred Krukewitt Sy. She married Terry Campbell on November 14, 1969 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Champaign. After graduating from Newman High School and Business College, Janice worked for several businesses in the Springfield area and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling and visiting local attractions. She was a member of the IL Feline Fanciers, Inc. and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Lowell Dean Sy. She is survived by her husband, Terry of Springfield; a son, Edward Dean (Anna) Bass of Berwyn; grandsons, Michael and Daniel Bass both of Berwyn; and a brother, Darrel (Teri) Sy of Fairview Heights; three nieces and a nephew; three great-nieces and four great-nephews. Visitation will be held from 1:00 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will be held following the visitation at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Harre officiating. Private family burial will take place in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
