Jason E. Tarr

Jason E. Tarr, 43, of Mechanicsburg, went on to be with the Lord and his dad at 7:34 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Johns Hospital. Jason was born November 15, 1974 in Springfield, the son of Dennis and Vicky Greene Tarr. He married Tracy Hurley on September 7, 1996 in Edinburg. Jason graduated from Tri-City High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College. He was employed by Pepsi-Cola and as a Crop Specialist with Prairieland FS. He enjoyed working in his garden, doing yardwork, farming, playing basketball, boating, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Tarr. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Tarr of Mechanicsburg; children, Shelby, Taylor, Jace, and Jackson Tarr, all of Mechanicsburg; mother, Vicky Tarr of Mechanicsburg; siblings, Gabriel (wife, Alison) Tarr of Pontiac, Christy (husband, Howard) Manuel of Naperville, Ben (wife, Ellie) Tarr of Riverton, and Kaitlyn Tarr of Mechanicsburg; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Karen and Bruce Oglesby of Williamsville; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 N. Campbell St., Edinburg with Rev. Gaylord Spilker officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jason E. Tarr Memorial Fund at any United Community Bank location.
