Jason Wiley, 42, of Springfield, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, January 28, 2013. The cause of death was determined to be severe and underlying heart disease with major artery blockages. Jason was born June 8, 1970, the son of Paul Wiley and Kathi Smith. He lived his entire life in Springfield, attending Pleasant Plains schools and graduating from ISU with degrees in Business and Economics. For the past 10 years, Jason was Owner/Operator of Comfort Keepers, a home care agency serving seniors in the area. It was his proudest accomplishment. Most are probably not aware that he was a very accomplished guitarist, spending hours composing and perfecting. Fishing and football were also high on his list. His friends and family will fondly remember Jason as smart, funny, kind, generous, and so easy to be around. In the months preceding his untimely death, he was as happy as he had ever been and was filled with enthusiasm for what lay ahead. We're all so thankful for that memory. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul Wiley, Sr. and Richard Clark. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Kathi and Paul Smith; his father and step-mother, Paul and Cindy Wiley; four step-brothers, Andy Smith, Chuck Smith, Andrew Yuskanich, and Zackary Yuskanich; two step-sisters, Debra Romanotto and Brooke Yuskanich; grandmothers, Gerry Clark and Myrlah Wiley; several aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Finally, we cannot fail to mention Jason's lifelong best friend, Chris Barnett, and his very good friend and business partner, April Craigmiles. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. For those wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Jason, the family recommends: Senior Services of Central Illinois, 701 W. Mason St., Springfield, IL 62702, Alzheimer's Association, 2309 W. White Oaks Dr., Suite E., Springfield, IL 62704, or any other organization serving seniors.
