Jeffrey Michael Jennings

Jeff was born on December 12, 1975, in Springfield, the son of Roger and Judith A. Fracaro Jennings. He began dating Megan Manker at the age of 16 and married her on May 29, 1999, at St. Agnes Catholic Church. They recently celebrated 23 years of marriage.

Jeff was a graduate of Northwood University in West Palm Beach, FL. He worked at Jennings Chevrolet in Beardstown, where he proudly put his daughter Ellie in business commercials. Jeff owned and operated Smoky Jennings Car Wash in Springfield. He loved to visit with his customers and tell stories. Jeff also loved taking his family on annual trips to Florida and his favorite spot, The Kentucky Kingdom, where there were free drinks for all of out of state visitors. His nieces, nephews, and friends would visit for pool parties and Jeff’s hardest decision came on Sunday nights when deciding where to get pizza. He was generous in contributing to his daughter’s schools, was a member of the Beardstown Elks Lodge #1007, and a member of the 4:30 supper club. Jeff was a huge fan of the University of IL sports.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Barbara Fracaro; and his dog, Ace “Boo” Jennings.

He is survived by his wife, Megan Jennings of Springfield; four daughters, Ellie, Ava, Reese, and Mia Jennings, all of Springfield; his father, Roger (wife, Donna) Jennings of Palmyra; four siblings, Melinda “Mindy” (husband, Rick) Thoroman of Girard, Melissa Jennings of California, Michelle (husband, Ian) Hoffenberg of Chicago, and Jason Jennings of South Carolina; mother-in-law, Shelley Manker of Springfield; Megan’s siblings, Brynn (husband, Mark) Cortesi and Zach (wife, Meredith) Manker all of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.

Private family burial will take place at Union Chapel Cemetery in Girard.
