Jeffrey Ray Skaggs

Jeffrey R. Skaggs, 58, of Chatham, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on December 29, 1959 in Springfield, to Bobbie and Shirley Pierson Skaggs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill. He will be greatly missed by his brothers, John (Donna) Kerska and Kelly Skaggs both of Chatham; sister, Janet Boyer of Springfield; aunts and uncles, Roy (Nancy) Skaggs and Dovie Skaggs all of Chatham, Chuck Branham of Thayer; seven nieces and nephews; several great nieces, nephews and cousins. He worked for the Village of Chatham in the electric and water departments for many years. He was an avid bowler at Strike and Spare West and King Pin; last week he bowled 22 strikes in a row! He scored 30 seven times in his bowling career. Jeff and his brother, loved golf and purchased their 2018 season passes at Edgewood Golf Club in Auburn; they were looking forward to Spring! Cremation rites will be accorded before all services at Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. His family will greet friends from 4pm until the time of the memorial service at 7pm, Friday January 5, 2018 at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, Paula Staab Polk, Celebrant. Friends and family will be able to share stories of Jeffs life at the celebration of his life. Burial will be at 10:30am, Saturday, January 6, at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
