Jerry J. Reider, 58, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in Pleasant Plains. Jerry was born on July 17, 1950 in Geneseo, the son of Lowell V. and Frances M. Vyneman Reider. Jerry served in the United States Navy. He was currently employed as a rural postal carrier. Preceding Jerry in death was his father. He is survived by his son, Sean (Yvette) Reider of Alabama; his mother, Frances of Springfield; one step granddaughter; his siblings, Jim (Ida) Reider of Gainesville, GA, Judy (Fred, Jr.) Crawford of Chatham, Jan Rennier of Springfield, Mary Jo (Steve) Derry of Savoy, Mike (Nan) Reider of Fenton, MO; in addition 13 nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Deacon David R. Erdmann officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Reider family in care of Frances Reider.
