Jerry Reynolds

Jerry was born on May 10, 1940, in Springfield, the son of Virgil and Ruth Kern Reynolds. He married Katie Kissick on June 2, 1961, in Springfield. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2021.

Jerry proudly served his country in the Air National Guard. He worked for Stone Seed for 23 years and then at the State Journal Register until his retirement. Jerry was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears. He loved decorating the family home for Christmas. Jerry collected diecast cars, mostly older models, and his 1957 Chevy was one of his favorites.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ronald Reynolds.

Jerry is survived by his children, Jerry (Rita) Reynolds of Springfield, Sabra (Clifford) Dyas of Decatur, IL, and Kathi (Brent) Wallner of St. Charles, MO; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Ben, Whitney (Jamie), C.J. (Stephanie), Remington (Laura), Katie, Lexi, and Ashley; thirteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nancy, Deborah, David, and Rickie.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St. A ceremony will follow at 3:00 p.m. with daughter, Rev. Sabra Dyas, and grandchildren, Rev. C. J., Rev. Remington, and Katie Dyas officiating.
