Jill Reynolds, 64, of Chatham, passed away on Sunday October 26, 2025. She was born on July 6, 1961 in Oblong, Illinois to Billie Bandy and Rebecca Price Bandy. Jill married Mark Reynolds on June 27, 1981 in Carrollton and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2020.
Mrs. Reynolds is survived by two sons: Adam Reynolds (partner Dan Fenton) of Carlinville, IL., and Shane Reynolds (wife Lizzy Fedorek) of Brooklyn, NY., as well as several nieces & nephews.
Jill began working at age 13 detasseling corn. She held a number of jobs throughout her youth in Carrollton, IL., working as a carhop at A&W Root Beer, making donuts in the bakery of the Carrollton IGA, and working as a teller at Illini Bank.
She then began working at Ball Chatham School District, where she stayed for over two decades. She worked as a lunch lady, kitchen manager, and hall monitor. Jill also worked at Lewis Memorial Christian Village as a recreation program coordinator. She loved helping others and found great purpose and community in every job she did.
Jill loved gardening, cooking, and being around others. She loved the community she lived in and was involved in a number of community organizations and initiatives. She was an officer in the Chatham-Auburn VFW, a member of the TRN & the Wreaths Across America committee, and was active for many years in the Chatham Jaycees.
She personally strung Christmas lights in trees at the Chatham Village Square and initiated the 4th of July fireworks in the park. Jill regularly donated to Ball-Chatham Food Pantry and the VFW little pantry–she hated to see it empty.
A celebration of life will be held for Jill on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 11am-4pm at the Knights of Columbus hall, 141 North Lakewood Drive, in Chatham. Refreshments will be provided. The family kindly requests that to honor Jill all who are able please donate to the Ball-Chatham Food Pantry and/or bring a non-perishable donation to the celebration.
