Joan Curren Nelch

Joan Curren Nelch, age 71 of Springfield passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday April 6, 2002 at her residence. She was born on January 31, 1931 in Springfield, the daughter of Dr. Robert T. and Blanche Wall Curren. She married F. Keith Nelch on December 26, 1953 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Springfield, Illinois; he preceded her in death in 1979. She was a graduate of the University of Colorado. She was owner and a member of the Board of Directors of Henry Nelch and Son Co. Mrs. Nelch was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, King’’s Daughter’’s Circle, a sustainer in the Junior League of Springfield, member of Illini Country Club and she loved to play bridge. She was also preceded in death by one daughter: Mary Nanette Nelch. Surviving are her children: Greg (Ruthann) Nelch of Menlow Park, CA., Marcia (Fred) Bruggeman of Ft. Wayne, IN., Robert (LuAnne) Nelch of Springfield, Mary Jo Nelch of Springfield and Matthew Nelch of Springfield; nine grandchildren: Alexandra, Audrey, Whitney, Nathan, Lindsey, Michael, Ian, Andrew and Lauren. Friends may call from 9:45 a.m – 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at Christ The King Catholic Church with Reverend David Lantz as celebrant. Private Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
