Joan Norris, 79, of Springfield, passed away at 12:48 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. Joan was born July 9, 1939 in New Berlin, the daughter of Mildred Winchester and Bernard Freitag. She married James E. Norris on January 5, 1962 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception; he preceded her in death. Joan was a loving stay at home mom who enjoyed cooking, traveling, her dog, gambling, and watching Judge Judy. Joan made her own cookbook which she entitled "A Mothers Love". She is survived by her son, Steven (Mikala) Norris of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Susan (Alex) Lawson of Springfield; and her beloved dog, Molly. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Graveside Ceremony: 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, 5063 Camp Butler Road, Springfield.
