

She was born in Thu Duc, Vietnam, May 2, 1948, the daughter of Le Van Ky and Pham Thi Nhi. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Le Phuc Kieu My, and siblings Pham Ba Cang, Le Van Quy, Le Hoang Son, Le Hoang Kiet, Le Thi Anh Tuyet, Le Hoang Minh, and Le Hoang Hai.
JoAnne came to the United States in 1971 with Tom Edmonson, to whom she was married to for 22 years, raising two children together. She was the owner and operator of Custom House Tailoring from 1984 until December of 2018 when she closed the shop, and thought she would retire. However, she continued to do alterations independently, and later for L.A. Formals. She was a long-time member of Hope Church.
Surviving are her two children: Tammy (Shane) Edmonson Bumgarner of Buena Vista, CO and Johnny (Carrie) Edmonson of Springfield, IL. She has six grandchildren: Ashley (Kaleb) Kennedy of Springfield, IL, Jesse Bumgarner of Buena Vista, CO, Chance (Brianna) Mynatt of Norfolk, VA, Bailey Jennings of St. Louis, MO, Callie Edmonson of Springfield, and Jocelyn Bumgarner of Buena Vista, CO; three great-grandchildren: Kooper Kennedy, Kaysi Kennedy and Colton Mynatt; her siblings, Nguyet Anh Le, Anh Hong Thi Le, Anh Suong Thi Le, Vu Hoang Le, Lam Hoang Le and Trinh Kieu Le all of Springfield, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are in the care of Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield where family and friends are welcome to visitation on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Brian Mills will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
